Since the beginning of the new year, international relations have turned into bedlam. This was announced on Friday, January 9, by Dmitry Medvedev, Deputy Chairman of the Russian Security Council.

"Since the beginning of the year, current international relations have turned into utter bedlam," he said in a message posted on his Telegram channel.

Commenting on several topics in his post at once, for example, the US seizure of Venezuelan President Nicolas Maduro and the new American anti-Russian sanctions, the deputy chairman of the Russian Security Council stated: "the year began violently."

On January 4, Medvedev, commenting on the US strikes on Venezuela, called the reaction of the EU countries to this event a classic manifestation of double standards. And later, on January 9, he demanded that Washington recognize the legitimacy of his operation after the operation in Venezuela.
