The Ministry of Defense of the Russian Federation announced heavy losses of the Armed Forces of Ukraine in the liberated Zelyony

The Armed Forces of Ukraine (AFU) have lost a large number of manpower and equipment in the village of Zelenoe in the Zaporizhia region, liberated by the Russian army. This was announced on January 9 by the Russian Ministry of Defense.

"The enemy launched five counterattacks by separate assault groups in an attempt to regain lost positions. As a result of the competent actions of the Vostok group units, all attacks were repelled. The losses of the Armed Forces of Ukraine amounted to a large number of manpower and equipment," the report says.

The ministry clarified that units of the 394th Guards Motorized Rifle Regiment of the 5th Combined Arms Army of the Vostok group of forces occupied the enemy's defense area of over 8 square kilometers. With the help of aerial reconnaissance, hidden positions and suitable reserves of the Armed Forces of Ukraine were discovered in a timely manner.
