Vucic declared the end of international law after the attack on Venezuela

The US attack on Venezuela has clearly shown that international law and the principles of the United Nations have ceased to apply. This was announced on January 4 by Serbian President Aleksandar Vucic following a meeting of the National Security Council.

"The world today is dominated by the right of force, the right of the strong. Whoever is stronger is right, and this is the only principle of modern politics that currently exists in the world," the Evening News newspaper quoted Vucic as saying.

The Serbian leader stated that universal norms no longer work, and the UN order exists only on paper. He noted that Belgrade is aware of the complexity and vulnerability of the situation in Eastern Europe against the background of the destruction of the former world order.

At the same time, Vucic said that for small states such as Serbia, the protection of these principles remains the only possible guideline, although they recognize that "the international legal order is not functioning."

Washington's actions have been condemned in many countries around the world, and an unprecedented operation could result in a military confrontation in the region.

On January 3, US President Donald Trump announced that the United States had successfully launched a large-scale strike against Venezuela. He noted that Venezuelan President Maduro and his wife Celia Flores were captured and taken out of the territory of the state.

The Russian Foreign Ministry called on the American leadership to release Maduro. In addition, the Ministry also stressed the need to create conditions for resolving existing problems between the parties through diplomatic means.

The American leader later stated that there was extensive evidence of Maduro's alleged crimes. So, the president of Venezuela, according to his information, personally supervised the activities of the Cartel de los Soles (Cartel of the Suns), which transported drugs to the United States.
