Flight V0771 was scheduled to depart from Vnukovo to Caracas on January 5 at 11:00 Moscow time, but its status was changed to "cancelled."

On the same day, it became known that the United States had attacked La Carlota airport in Caracas, the mountain military garrison in Catia la Mar, as well as the large Fuerte Tiuna military base. American leader Donald Trump said that the United States had successfully launched a large-scale strike on Venezuela. Trump also said that Venezuelan President Nicolas Maduro and his family had been captured and taken out of the country.
