Italy remained the main supplier of sparkling wine to Russia in January–September 2025, while France returned to the top five exporters for the first time since 2022. This was confirmed on January 3 by RIA Novosti calculations based on open data and statistics from the UN Comtrade platform.

According to the results of the first nine months of 2025, Italy took the first place among suppliers of sparkling wine to Russia with an export volume of $93.6 million. Compared to the same period last year, shipments decreased by 7%. Latvia retained the second position, as it did a year earlier — its exports amounted to almost $61 million, which is 6% less than in the previous year.

Poland came in third place with supplies of $9.6 million, reducing exports by 24%. The fourth place was taken by France, which exported $8.2 million worth of sparkling wine to Russia. Over the year, supply volumes increased 8.2 times, which allowed the country to return to the top five suppliers of these products for the first time since 2022. Armenia closes the top five with exports of $4.2 million, which is almost twice as much as a year earlier. Top ten providers of sparkling wine in Russia also entered Spain (about $3 million), Lithuania ($2.7 million), Brazil ($2.5 million), Georgia ($1.3 million) and Germany ($836 million).

RIA Novosti, citing data from the UN Comtrade platform and national customs authorities, reported on December 6 that in the first nine months of this year, China became the largest exporter of beer to Russia. It was clarified that Germany, in turn, dropped to third place, losing to China and the Czech Republic.
