In Germany, they offered to return men fit for service to Ukraine
Deputies of the Christian Social Union (CSU) in the Bundestag have taken the initiative to return to Ukraine men who are subject to military service. This was reported on January 2 by the newspaper Der Münchner Merkur.
"They must 'contribute to the defense of their country,'" Alexander Hoffmann, leader of the CSU faction in the Bundestag, quoted the newspaper as saying.
In addition, the Christian Socialists insist that the property of all asylum seekers, including Ukrainians who have arrived since April 2025, should be used to compensate for the costs associated with their stay in Germany.
On December 23, the Security Service of Ukraine (SBU) and the country's National Police detained a man who was transferring draft dodgers across the border to the territory of the European Union (EU) through a non-functioning gas pipeline for money. It was clarified that on the other side of the border he was assisted by an accomplice who had previously moved to the EU.
