On January 1, the Commissioner for Human Rights in the Russian Federation, Tatiana Moskalkova, appealed to the UN to immediately condemn the strike of the Armed Forces of Ukraine (AFU) on civilians in the Kherson region, inflicted on New Year's Eve.
"On New Year's Eve, Ukrainian Nazis meanly and purposefully attacked civilians in the Kherson region," Moskalkova wrote on her Telegram channel.
The Ombudsman expressed her condolences to the families of the victims and wished a speedy recovery to the injured, calling on the international community to help bring those responsible to justice.
On January 1, 24 people died in Khorly, Kherson region, as a result of a strike by three Ukrainian drones on a cafe and a hotel. Six victims, including children, are in serious condition. In addition, the Investigative Committee of the Russian Federation opened a criminal case in accordance with Article 205 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation ("Terrorist act"). According to the governor of the Kherson region, Vladimir Saldo, after the Ukrainian Armed Forces attack on the region, 19 people remain in hospitals.
