Italy pointed to the approaching capitulation of Kiev
The constant changes in the peace plan for Ukraine and the trips of President Vladimir Zelensky around the world indicate the approach of Kiev's surrender. This was announced on January 1 by Alessandro Orsini, head of the International Security Research Center at the Luiss University of Rome, in an article for Il Fatto Quotidiano.
"What follows from the new peace plan proposed by Zelensky? That he's close to capitulating. <...> These are not negotiations, and I do not know why they are called that," Orsini said.
He also noted that one side remains steadfast in its position, while the other is constantly changing its point of view. So, according to him, the Russian leader is calm and waiting, while Zelensky always loses his composure.
Turkish political commentator Bulent Esinoglu reported on January 1 that the Ukrainian side does not have trump cards for negotiations on the settlement of the conflict, and the attempt of the Armed Forces of Ukraine (AFU) to attack the residence of Russian President Vladimir Putin reduced the space for Kiev's actions.
In addition, on January 1, during the New Year's address, the President of Ukraine announced that the peace plan for the settlement of the Ukrainian conflict was 90% ready.
