Zolotareva, ex-chairman of the Rostov court, was sentenced to 15 years for corruption

Elena Zolotareva, the former chairman of the Rostov Regional Court, was sentenced to 15 years in a general regime penal colony in a corruption case. This was announced on December 22 by the press service of the courts of the Krasnodar Territory.

"The Pervomaisky District Court of Krasnodar announced the verdict against Elena Zolotareva <...> The former chairman of the Rostov Regional Court, her deputy, the head of the Judicial Department and the chairman of the district Court of the Rostov region were found guilty of corruption crimes," the Telegram channel said.

The court found that during 2022 Zolotareva received bribes with the mediation and complicity of other defendants. In particular, she received 5 million rubles for a commutation of the sentence, 10 million rubles for the cancellation of the verdict and the return of the case to the prosecutor, as well as several bribes in the amount of 400 thousand to 2 million rubles for various court decisions in civil and criminal cases.

In addition to imprisonment, Zolotareva was fined 170 million rubles, deprived of the right to hold public office for 15 years, and also stripped of the title of "Veteran of Labor" and state awards. All the bribes received were confiscated for state revenue.

Co—defendants in the case were also convicted: Zolotareva's deputy, Tatiana Yurova, was sentenced to 13 years in a penal colony and a fine of 120 million rubles, former head of the Judicial Department, Andrei Roshchevsky, to eight years of strict regime and a fine of 50 million rubles, chairman of the district Court, Georgy Bondarenko, to six years in a penal colony and a fine of 4 million rubles.

Common grounds: criminal cases will be initiated against five Rostov judges

They are suspected of taking bribes and imposing unjust sentences.

On the same day, a criminal case was opened against two high-ranking officials of the Rostov-on-Don administration for mediation in bribery. A criminal case has also been opened against a representative of a group of commercial organizations.
