- The survey showed the dissatisfaction of about 60% of Germans with the work of the German government
About 60% of Germans critically assessed the work of the German government and Chancellor Friedrich Merz. This was reported by Der Spiegel magazine on December 21.
"Only Merz's supporters are happy with the government. The Berlin coalition is currently in last place in terms of approval rating," the article says.
It is noted that only 27% of the surveyed citizens expect improvement in Germany. Also, only 35% of respondents want to see Merz as chancellor in the future.
In addition, Germans express pessimism about the economic outlook. Thus, about 41% of citizens predict a deterioration in their financial situation next year. Surveys show that there are no signs of positive dynamics in the country compared to last year's forecasts.
The Bild newspaper reported on December 7 that Merz and his government are losing the support of the German population at a record pace. 70% of respondents are dissatisfied with the work of the ruling coalition, the results of the study showed. Only 21% of the respondents are satisfied with the government's activities.
