The media reported on the hospitalization of the former president of Argentina
Former Argentine President Cristina Fernandez de Kirchner, who is under house arrest, was hospitalized with abdominal pain. This was reported on December 20 by the newspaper La Nacion, citing sources close to the ex-president.
"The former president was examined by doctors at her apartment in Constitution (a neighborhood in Buenos Aires. — Ed.), and then transferred to a clinic <...>, where she underwent laparoscopy," the publication says.
Kirchner was transferred to a sanatorium with the permission of the court, the newspaper writes. It is specified that she was diagnosed with appendicitis.
According to the newspaper, after the operation, the condition of the former leader of Argentina began to "improve without postoperative complications."
On June 10, the Supreme Court of Argentina upheld Kirchner's sentence. In 2022, she was sentenced to six years in prison in a corruption case, but did not serve any time, because at that time she was the current vice president of Argentina.
An Argentine court on June 17 allowed Kirchner to serve time at home. It was clarified that the ex-president would need to provide a list of people, including family members, who would visit the apartment where she was staying.
