As part of the discussion of security guarantees, Ukraine's allies promised to use diplomatic measures to prevent a possible escalation of the conflict. This was reported on December 18 by Bloomberg, citing sources.

"In the event of a resumption of hostilities, the Ukrainian armed forces will act as the first line of defense, while Kiev's allies will quickly take diplomatic and conflict prevention measures," the article says.

At the same time, according to the publication, if these measures do not prove effective, European countries intend to provide military assistance with the assistance of the United States.

German Chancellor Friedrich Merz said yesterday that Germany, along with other NATO member states, should become one of the guarantors of security for Ukraine after the conflict ends.

On December 15, the leaders of the European Union (EU) countries proposed sending multinational forces to Ukraine following talks in Berlin. It was also pointed out that the leaders of European countries intend to maintain the number of the Armed Forces of Ukraine (AFU) at a level not lower than 800 thousand fighters.
