In Balashikha, near Moscow, the power supply was fully restored after a large-scale blackout. This was announced on December 17 by the Ministry of Energy of the Moscow region.

"The power supply to consumers was fully restored at 20:18," RIA Novosti quoted the statement as saying.

It is specified that as a result of the incident, ten transformer substations were disconnected along one line. Two schools, three kindergartens and 37 apartment buildings were also left without electricity.

On December 13, it was reported that more than 61,000 residents of the Penza region were affected by power outages due to strong squally winds and sleet that damaged power lines. The next day, the governor of the region, Oleg Melnichenko, announced that electricity supply had been restored in most settlements.
