The snow thickness in the search area for missing tourists in the Perm Region exceeds 1.5 m. This was announced on December 15 by the press service of the Russian Ministry of Emergency Situations.

It is specified that the search and rescue operation continues around the clock, but the work is significantly complicated by weather conditions.

"Squally wind, snowstorm, poor visibility. The thickness of the snow cover is more than 1.5 m," the message says.

The department added that the search area is divided into five sectors. 78 people and 26 snowmobiles are involved in the operation. The total area of the search activities is about 65 square kilometers.

On December 14, the Lisa Alert search and rescue team received a request to search for an unregistered tourist group in the Perm Region and formed visiting teams. Later, law enforcement agencies, the Ministry of Emergency Situations, and volunteers were involved in the rescue operation. The Investigative Committee (IC) announced an investigation into the disappearance, after which it opened a criminal case.

On December 15, Kirill Chelyshev, coordinator of LizaAlert, spoke about the use of a drone to search for missing tourists. According to him, the drone will be launched from the top of the mountain, where it will be transported by snowmobiles. Later, the Izvestia correspondent reported that they had managed to track the signal of the missing people's mobile phones. The source is located near the Sukhaya River
