Dynamo coach Zaikin revealed details of the traffic conflict in Astrakhan
On December 13, Dynamo handball club coach Georgy Zaikin told Izvestia about the details of the traffic conflict in Astrakhan. According to him, the incident began with aggressive driving by the driver of a blue BMW, who cut off his car several times.
"A couple of times he cut me off tolerably, and the third time I was moving in the right lane, and he was on the left. He wanted to change lanes abruptly, pulled the steering wheel. In order to avoid a collision, I had to rub myself into the curb, scratched the discs on the car," Zaikin said.
According to the Dynamo coach, the BMW driver began to behave aggressively, after which he ran out of his car and demanded that the coach get out. When Zaikin opened the window a crack, the man spat in his face, which provoked a fight. Passengers from the BMW also intervened in the conflict, who, according to the victim, struck him several times. As a result, the attacker used a chokehold, which knocked the coach unconscious.
After Zaikin woke up, he managed to take pictures of the aggressors and drive away, although he tried to prevent them by putting his foot inside the car. The coach said that at first he did not plan to contact law enforcement agencies, but later he showed symptoms of a concussion, and his children saw the video of the incident posted online.
A source from Izvestia reported on the attack on Zaikin on the same day. Returning from a training session on Bakinskaya Street in the evening, he became a victim of aggressive behavior by the driver of a BMW car.
