On December 7, the Russian Embassy in Benin called on Russian citizens to "stay in their homes" until the situation is clarified in connection with the military's statement about the seizure of power.

"Until further clarification of the situation in the city of Cotonou, we recommend that you stay in your homes and take basic precautions," the embassy said in a message on its Telegram channel.

The publication stressed that the embassy will inform about the development of the situation.
