The meeting participants discussed the results of the recent U.S. contact with the Russian side, as well as possible steps that could lead to a cessation of hostilities. American and Ukrainian representatives have agreed on a framework for future security measures and a list of deterrence capabilities.

A separate block of negotiations was devoted to the reconstruction of the country after the end of the conflict. The directions of the American-Ukrainian economic initiatives and long-term reconstruction projects were also considered.

Witkoff met with Russian President Vladimir Putin on December 3. The negotiations lasted about five hours.

Ukrainian media reported that negotiations on a settlement between the delegations of Ukraine and the United States ended in Miami on December 5. On the same day, Russian presidential aide Yuri Ushakov said that Russia expects the United States to provide the results of its negotiations with the Ukrainian side.
