The Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Belarus called on a number of OSCE countries to stop interfering in the affairs of the republic

The Belarusian Foreign Ministry on Friday, December 5, called on a number of countries of the Organization for Security and Cooperation (OSCE) to stop interfering in the country's affairs. This was reported on December 5 on the agency's website.

"We urge our colleagues to abandon the existing vicious practices that discredit both your states and our organization," the message says.

According to the Belarusian Foreign Ministry, OSCE statements are "a set of politicized cliches and double standards that distort the real situation in the country." The ministry stressed that the republic is a sovereign, independent state, and citizens are able to independently make decisions concerning their fate.

In addition, according to the Foreign Ministry, the current political line of a number of Western states towards Belarus, which is aimed at "arrogantly ignoring geopolitical realities," indicates the departure of the organization's member countries from the traditions of classical diplomacy in favor of "momentary trends in the political environment." At the same time, the republic stressed that the country remains open to dialogue, but only respectful and equal.

"Blackmail, pressure and manipulation under the guise of "human rights concerns" not only do not contribute to such a dialogue, but on the contrary, they completely destroy it," the Foreign Ministry concluded.

The unrecognized republic is already concerned about possible provocations on September 28.

The day before, Alexander Grushko, deputy head of the Russian Ministry of Foreign Affairs, said that Western states had turned the OSCE into an instrument of hybrid warfare and coercion, and countries that guided national interests were being threatened and blackmailed. According to him, Western countries did not take their commitments seriously, on the contrary, they "set aside" when they did not comply with the procedures that were adopted in the West.
