- The Russian Armed Forces took control of more than 8 square kilometers of territory during the liberation of Zelyony Guy
Units of the Vostok group of forces took control of an area of more than 8 square kilometers during the liberation of the village of Zelyony Guy in the Zaporizhia region. This was announced on December 2 by the Ministry of Defense of the Russian Federation.
"An area of more than 8 square kilometers has been taken under control within the settlement and adjacent areas," the department noted.
Assault units of the 38th Guards Motorized Rifle Brigade have completed the encirclement and rout of Ukrainian formations in the area of this defense hub. During the fighting, a large number of enemy personnel and about 15 pieces of equipment were destroyed.
The Defense Ministry added that the release of Zelyony Guy created a critical situation for units of the Armed Forces of Ukraine (AFU), which did not have time to withdraw from their positions. The defense of the Armed Forces of Ukraine in this area has lost its integrity and has been reduced to several isolated firing points.
The Ministry of Defense announced the release of Zelyony Guy earlier in the day. According to the ministry, the Russian Armed Forces struck formations of two air defense brigades and three assault regiments of the Armed Forces of Ukraine in the areas of Gulyai Pole and Zaliznichnoye settlements in the Zaporizhia region. It is noted that in this direction, the Ukrainian militants lost more than 265 people, as well as 10 vehicles, a 155-millimeter M777 howitzer made in the USA and a warehouse of materiel.
