The command of the Armed Forces of Ukraine (AFU) has dismissed the commander of the 57th separate motorized infantry brigade, Yevgeny Solodaev, after unsuccessfully leading troops in the Kharkiv region. This was reported to TASS on November 27 by sources in Russian law enforcement agencies.

According to the source, the reason was the loss of positions near Volchansk.

"In the Kharkov direction <...>, Colonel Yevgeny Solodaev, commander of the 57th Infantry Division, was removed from his post. Yesterday, he left the brigade's location, handing over matters to the new brigade commander, Lieutenant Colonel Vitaly Popovich (call sign Wind)," the source said.

According to the agency, Solodaev is a long-time friend of former President of Ukraine Petro Poroshenko (listed by Rosfinmonitoring as a person involved in extremist activities or terrorism).

Earlier, on November 26, it was reported that infantry units of the 72nd Mechanized Brigade of the Armed Forces of Ukraine refused to take up combat positions, and military police were involved in the unit. It was clarified that the order was carried out only by units of unmanned aircraft, infantry battalions refused to go to the front line.
