Russians have won five gold medals at the European Taekwondo Championships.

Russian athletes won five gold, three silver and one bronze medals at the European Taekwondo Championships held in Switzerland. The Russians took part in the competition on November 22-23 in a neutral status.

On Saturday, November 22, Idar Bagov (up to 58 kg), Rafail Ayukaev (over 80 kg) and Margarita Bliznyakova (up to 57 kg) became European champions, writes Sport-Express.

Olympic champion Vladislav Larin (over 80 kg) and Irina Rogozina (under 49 kg) won silver medals.

On Sunday, the final day of the tournament, gold was won by Lilia Khuzina (up to 67 kg) and Anastasia Kosmycheva (over 67 kg). Ilya Danilov (up to 68 kg) will take home the silver medal, Artyom Mytarev (up to 80 kg) became the bronze medalist.

Earlier on Sunday, it became known that Russian athletes beat the Azerbaijani team in the final of the World Team Chess Championship in Spain. The final consisted of two matches, both ended in favor of our athletes. We won the first meeting with a score of 3:1. Alexandra Goryachkina and Polina Shuvalova scored the winning points for the team, while the games of Ekaterina Lagno and Leia Garifullina ended in a draw. The score of the second match was 2.5:1.5 — Garifullina brought the decisive point to the team. The remaining games ended in a draw.
