The fire at the Shaturskaya GRES occurred as a result of an attack by a UAV

The fire at the Shatura State Regional power Plant (GRES) occurred as a result of an attack by unmanned aerial vehicles (UAVs). This was announced on November 23 by the governor of the Moscow region, Vorobyov.

"This morning, a drone attack was carried out on the Shaturskaya GRES. Some of the drones were destroyed by the air defense forces, several fell on the territory of the station," he wrote in his Telegram channel.

As Vorobyov pointed out, the fire has now been localized, and emergency services are continuing their work.

"The power supply in the city has not been disrupted — switching to backup lines has been carried out promptly. To maintain the heat supply until the situation is fully stabilized, we have sent mobile modular boiler houses to the district," he added.

Vorobyov stressed that the situation is under control, there is no threat to residents.
