Journalist Owens announced the preparation of an assassination attempt on her because of the case of Macron's wife.

American journalist Candice Owens, known for her statements that the wife of French President Emmanuel Macron is biologically male, reported a possible attempt on her life. She wrote about this on November 22 on social media, citing a source working in the French government.

"This man claims that the Macrons ordered my murder and paid for it," reads a post on X (ex. Twitter).

The journalist claims that an employee of the French government provided her with proof of his position.

According to Owens, the US government is also aware of the upcoming assassination attempt. She added that she wasn't sure who she could trust anymore.

The Financial Times reported on July 23 that the Macrons had filed a defamation lawsuit against Owens, who claimed that the French first lady was a man. According to the newspaper, the 218-page lawsuit alleges that the journalist published "ridiculous, defamatory and far-fetched fictions."
