The United States has set a strict deadline for discussing Washington's proposed peace plan to resolve the conflict in Ukraine — a decision must be made by November 27. This was stated by US President Donald Trump.
In addition, he pointed to the deterioration of Ukraine's situation on the line of contact.
"They (Ukraine — Ed.) are losing territories. <...> We are participating in [the negotiation process] for the sake of one thing, we want the killings to stop," Trump said.
On the same day, the Russian Defense Ministry announced that the Russian army had liberated 16 settlements in a week, including Kupyansk in the Kharkiv region. It was clarified that the units of the Vostok group of forces liberated the settlements of Guy, Joyous, Nechayevka in the Dnipropetrovsk region, as well as Veseloe, Yablokovo, Ravnopolye in the Zaporizhia region.
Ukrainian leader Vladimir Zelensky, in turn, said that the country was going through one of the most difficult moments in its history. According to him, the whole next week will be difficult for the government.
On November 19, the Axios portal reported on the details of the US plan to resolve the Ukrainian conflict. It was noted that it involves the transfer of the territories of Donbass controlled by Ukraine to the Russian Federation in exchange for security guarantees from Washington. As the portal noted, the regions of the region will be considered a demilitarized zone, so Kiev will need to withdraw the militants from there.
The RBC-Ukraine news agency, citing a senior American official, reported on November 21 that Trump insists on Zelensky's immediate acceptance of the proposed draft plan to resolve the crisis in Ukraine. Kremlin spokesman Dmitry Peskov said during a briefing that there had been no substantive discussion with Russia of the US peace plan to resolve the conflict in Ukraine.
