Olympic champion in cross-country skiing Alevtina Olyunina died at the age of 84. This was reported on November 19 on the portal of the state authorities of the Kostroma region.

"She devoted her life to selfless service to sports, being a single-minded, strong-willed, demanding person. Alevtina Sergeevna was and remains an example for the younger generation. I offer my deep condolences to the family, relatives and friends," says the telegram from the Governor of the Kostroma region Sergey Sitnikov.
