Mishustin announced the strengthening of tourism cooperation between Russia and Iran
On November 17, Russian Prime Minister Mikhail Mishustin, during a meeting in Moscow with Iranian Vice President Mohammad-Reza Aref, announced the strengthening of humanitarian cooperation between Russia and Iran in various fields, including tourism and sports.
It is specified that the negotiations took place within the framework of the meeting of the Council of Heads of Government of the SCO member states, which is taking place in the Russian capital on November 17-18.
"We are interested in developing our humanitarian cooperation. Cooperation in the fields of science, culture, sports and tourism is being strengthened," Mishustin said.
The Head of government also stressed that 9.5 thousand Iranian students are currently studying at Russian universities, which indicates the growing interest of the Iranian youth in the educational programs of the Russian Federation.
In addition, on this day, the head of government held a meeting with Premier of the State Council of the People's Republic of China Li Qiang. It is noted that, in addition to the SCO member states, high—level representatives of the dialogue partner states and observers from interested countries, executive bodies of international organizations and associations, including the CIS, the EAEU, the Conference on Interaction and Confidence-building Measures in Asia, and the Dialogue on Cooperation in Asia, were invited to the meeting.
Earlier, on October 20, Kremlin spokesman Dmitry Peskov said that Russia was ready to expand cooperation with Iran in all areas, including in the nuclear field. According to him, there are currently no grounds for exerting excessive pressure on Iran from European countries.
On October 16, Secretary of the Supreme National Security Council of Iran Ali Larijani met with Russian President Vladimir Putin during his visit to Moscow. It was clarified that during the conversation they discussed issues related to bilateral cooperation between the states and other topics.
