American businessman Elon Musk announced on November 16 that the Optimus humanoid robot developed by his company Tesla could radically change the global economy and income distribution system in the future.

"Optimus will be able to eliminate poverty and provide everyone with a universal high income," Musk said in a message posted on his page on the social network X (ex. Twitter).

Musk attached to the publication a fragment of his speech at a meeting with Tesla investors on November 6. In this video, the billionaire claims that in the future, the robot will be able to perform tasks at a level "better than the most qualified surgeon."

Earlier, on October 24, Musk announced that he plans to create an army of Optimus robots on the basis of his organization as part of the project of the same name. According to the idea, its development will be aimed not at the benefit of conflicts, but for the benefit of peace, as it will have to free humanity from hard work and "turn around" the labor market.

On the same day, Musk announced that in the future, people will not necessarily have to work, since all jobs will be occupied by robots. The businessman suggested that it would be possible to take up free time, for example, by growing vegetables instead of buying them in stores.
