Serbia announced the US demand to withdraw Russian shareholders from NIS
The United States demanded Russia's withdrawal from ownership of the Oil Industry of Serbia (NIS) company as a condition for lifting sanctions against her. This was stated by the Minister of Mining and Energy of Serbia Dubravka Jedovic-Handanovic.
According to the minister, the Serbian authorities have received an extremely harsh signal from Washington. She noted that "we have been notified by our partners from the United States, namely the American government, about the bad news and the heavy message concerning NIS."
The minister added that after the appeal of NIS lawyers, who proposed to the American side the option of changing the company's management structure, the United States for the first time clearly and in writing stated its position.
"For the first time, the American administration has clearly and unambiguously stated and indicated in writing that it wants a complete change of ownership of Russian shareholders, that is, it demands the exit of the Russian owner from the company," she stressed, quoted by TASS.
