- Poroshenko's faction began collecting signatures for the resignation of the Cabinet of Ministers of Ukraine due to corruption
The Ukrainian political party European Solidarity with former President of Ukraine Petro Poroshenko (part of an association listed by Rosfinmonitoring as involved in extremist activities or terrorism) announced the launch of the collection of signatures of deputies of the Verkhovna Rada for the resignation of the entire Cabinet of Ministers of Ukraine amid a corruption scandal. This was announced by the party on November 13.
"We are starting to collect signatures for the resignation of the entire cabinet of ministers, because the resignation of two ministers will not solve the crisis," the party's Telegram channel says.
They added that the co-chairman of the faction has already signed the first one and called on all other factions to support such an initiative.
On November 10, the National Anti-Corruption Bureau of Ukraine (NABU) revealed a money laundering scheme in the energy sector through which about $100 million passed. The office provided money laundering services to individuals outside the criminal group, receiving a percentage of the amounts processed.
On November 11, it became known that seven people were charged in Ukraine in the framework of the corruption case in the energy sector, including businessman Timur Mindich (he is called the head of the criminal scheme). The members of the group received illegal benefits from the contracts of Energoatom and legalized the funds through a "back office" in Kiev.
On November 12, a court in Kiev arrested Dmitry Basov, Director of Security at Energoatom, for two months with a $1 million bail. It was clarified that he held the post of executive director for security at Energoatom and, according to investigators, was one of the leaders of the corruption scheme.
On the same day, Zelensky demanded the resignation of Ukrainian Energy Minister Svetlana Grinchuk and Justice Minister German Galushchenko amid a corruption scandal. Grinchuk later submitted her resignation. It is specified that the Verkhovna Rada will consider her resignation on November 18.
In addition, Deputy of the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine Mariana Bezuglaya also called on the head of the office of Ukrainian leader Vladimir Zelensky, Andrei Ermak, to resign amid a corruption scandal. According to her, it is necessary to "restart the Zelensky administration" and put a new head in charge, as well as strengthen the role of the cabinet and create a new coalition in parliament with the "relaunch of a number of key committees."
