Scientists have warned of a possible intensification of the magnetic storm to the level of G4

The magnetic storm expected today may drag on and reach high activity levels, intensifying to the G4 level. This was announced on November 11 in the Telegram channel of the Laboratory of Solar Astronomy at the Institute of Space Research (IKI) of the Russian Academy of Sciences.

According to scientists, on November 10, the geomagnetic situation remained generally calm, but high activity remained in the Sun — about 15 flares were recorded per day. According to the researchers, these events may affect the Earth in the next 24 hours.

"At the end of the day (Moscow time), magnetic storms of the G1-G2 level are expected with a possible peak of G3-G4 tomorrow on November 12," the message said.

Earlier, on November 10, Mikhail Leus, a leading specialist at the Phobos Weather center, predicted a magnetic storm on Earth on November 11. According to the forecast, the intensity of fluctuations in the magnetic field will vary from weak to medium levels (G1–G2). At the same time, geomagnetic activity will continue until Wednesday morning.
