Kemerovo resident charged with murder after shooting

The Kemerovo resident who opened fire, as a result of which one person was killed and one injured, was detained and charged with murder. This was reported on November 9 in the Investigative Department of the Investigative Committee of Russia for the Kemerovo region – Kuzbass.

"A man who shot and killed a man near a nightclub in Kemerovo has been detained. He was charged under Part 1 of Article 105 of the Criminal Code ("Murder") and Part 3 of Article 30, paragraph "a" of Part 2 of Article 105 of the Criminal Code ("Attempted murder of two or more persons")," the department's Telegram channel says.

It was established that the 31-year-old suspect fled the crime scene in a Mercedes car. The SU of the UK added that later the man himself turned to law enforcement agencies. The issue of choosing a preventive measure in the form of detention is currently being resolved.

His apartment and the car in which he fled the crime scene were searched by investigators and forensic investigators of the Investigative Committee, during which weapons and ammunition were seized. Searches were also conducted in the living quarters of other parties to the conflict to detect possible traces of a crime and items relevant to the criminal case. In addition, surveillance footage was seized and examined, more than 15 witnesses were questioned, and a number of forensic examinations, including forensic and ballistic examinations, were ordered.

On the night of November 8, a conflict broke out in Kemerovo between two groups, one of the participants used firearms, as a result of which one person died in hospital from wounds, and another victim was taken to a medical facility. Criminal cases have been opened into the murder and the infliction of a gunshot wound. A criminal case has been opened under Part 1 of Article 105 of the Criminal Code ("Murder") and Part 3 of Article 30, paragraph "a" of Part 2 of Article 105 of the Criminal Code ("Attempted murder of two or more persons").
