UPS has suspended flights of MD-11 cargo planes after a plane crash in Louisville, Kentucky. This was reported on November 8 by the NBC television channel, citing informed sources.

The company said that the decision to temporarily suspend MD-11 flights was made in order to ensure safety. Currently, these aircraft make up 9% of UPS' fleet.

"We made this decision on the recommendation of the aircraft manufacturer, with the aim of preventive measures. Nothing is more important to us than safety," said UPS representative Jim Mayer.

On November 5, CNN reported that a UPS Airlines MD-11 plane crashed in Kentucky. There was a strong fire at the crash site. It was later clarified that the death toll from the aircraft crash had increased to 11 people.
