The Federal Air Transport Agency has classified the crash of the Ka-226 helicopter in the Republic of Dagestan as a disaster. This was announced on November 7 by the representative of the department, Artem Korenyako, in his Telegram channel.
"The Federal Air Transport Agency classified the event as a disaster. The investigation of its causes will be handled by the IAC with the participation of the Southern MTU of the Federal Air Transport Agency," the Federal Air Transport Agency clarified.
It is noted that the investigation will be conducted in accordance with the Rules for the Investigation of Aviation Accidents and Incidents involving Civil Aircraft in the Russian Federation.
The incident occurred on the afternoon of November 7th. It was clarified that the KA-226 aircraft of Concern KEMZ JSC crashed at 15:10 (Moscow time) near the village of Achi-Su. Three ambulance crews were working at the scene.
Later that day, it became known that a helicopter had crashed into a private uninhabited house in the village of Achi-Su. According to the Izvestia source, there were seven people on board the aircraft, three of whom died inside, and one was able to get out and died outside. In addition, the hospitalized are in serious condition.
The operational services involved in the investigation admitted that the cause of the crash could be a technical malfunction. It is the main version of the investigation.
Later it became known that the Western Interregional Investigation Department for Transport of the Investigative Committee (IC) of Russia had opened a criminal case on this fact under Part 3 of Article 263 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation ("Violation of the rules of traffic safety and operation of air transport, which negligently resulted in the death of two or more persons").
