Friday, November 7, may become the most difficult day of the year in terms of geomagnetic activity, as the Earth will simultaneously be affected by a large coronal hole and two plasma clouds. This was announced on November 7 at the Space Research Institute of the Russian Academy of Sciences (IKI RAS).

"Today is expected to be one of the most difficult <...>. The Earth must simultaneously enter the zone of action of a large coronal hole, as well as withstand the arrival of two clouds of plasma ejected as a result of large solar flares that occurred two days ago," follows from a publication in the Telegram channel.

According to the IKI RAS, a few hours ago the planet entered a stream of plasma emanating from the coronal hole. The near-Earth space has become unstable, and the parameters of the solar wind have reached extreme values. Its speed reached 700-800 km/s at normal 300-400 km/s, and the plasma temperature increased 5-10 times to almost half a million degrees.

It is noted that the first signs of increased geomagnetic activity are already being noted.
