The length of the tunnel through the Bering Strait, together with the exits, can range from 98 to 112 km. This was announced on November 3 by the author of the project, scientist Viktor Razbegin.

According to him, the minimum width of the strait in this location is about 83 km. However, Razbegin noted, "it is necessary to count along with the exits."

"Secondly, the route is just a little short of the shortest distance, given the fact that there are two islands in the middle of the strait - Ratmanov Island and Kruzenstern Island," he said.

The author of the project drew attention to the fact that there are only 4.5 km between the islands, so they are very convenient to use for construction.

"Therefore, the highway passing through these islands, depending on the project option, really ranges from 98 to 112 km," he said in an interview with RIA Novosti.
