Russia, Kazakhstan and Belarus sign military cooperation plan for 2026
Kazakh Defense Minister Dauren Kosanov and his Russian counterpart Andrei Belousov held talks in Alma Ata as part of the 85th meeting of the Council of Defense Ministers of the CIS countries. Within the framework of them, a military cooperation plan for 2026 was agreed. This was announced on October 31 on the official website of the Ministry of Defense of Kazakhstan.
During the meeting, the parties discussed key issues of regional security, cooperation in the training of military personnel, as well as the development of military-patriotic education. According to the ministry, the dialogue has strengthened the strategic partnership between Kazakhstan and Russia in the field of defense and security.
"Following the talks, a Plan for military cooperation between the Ministry of Defense of the Republic of Kazakhstan and the defense ministries of Russia and Belarus for 2026 was signed," the message said.
On October 10, Russian President Vladimir Putin, in a conversation with his Kazakh counterpart Kassym-Jomart Tokayev, called both countries initiators of integration processes in the post-Soviet space. He also noted the "special relationship" between the two countries. According to Putin, Russia values relations with Kazakhstan.
