On Wednesday, October 29, US President Donald Trump promised to end the conflict between North Korea and South Korea.

"I know that you are officially at war on the Korean peninsula, but we will see what can be done to settle all this," he said at a meeting with South Korean President Lee Jae-myung, the event was broadcast on the CNN News18 YouTube channel.

North Korean leader Kim Jong-un said on September 22 that Pyongyang would not seek unification with South Korea, as the countries had become "completely incompatible." According to him, Pyongyang will consolidate at the legislative level the provision that the North and the South are "two different states that cannot unite."

Prior to that, on September 14, Kim Jong-un's sister, Kim Yo-jong, warned Seoul against participating in the Iron Mace military exercises jointly with the United States and Japan. She stated that such actions would be regarded by Pyongyang as a manifestation of hostility and a continuation of a confrontational policy.
