Russian companies are actively switching to domestic IT products, Izvestia found out. The developers offer analogues of foreign software products. One of them is the superapp application for business, which can replace a whole range of software solutions. The updated VK WorkSpace platform from VK Tech has received this status. Now it combines over ten different tools: video conferencing, disk space, mail, task setting, project management, a virtual discussion board and much more. The main feature is the ability to work offline, and the system also combines high data security. Read more about how Russian business is switching to domestic solutions in the Izvestia article.

VK WorkSpace Updates

Russian companies are increasingly implementing domestic IT solutions after the departure of foreign software developers from our country. So, a superapp application was created for business, the main feature of which was that the platform can now work offline, that is, without an Internet connection. Other advantages include high reliability of data storage and geo—distribution of mail, that is, the ability to regulate it by branches and offices. The service is available both in the mobile version and in the PC version.

Another new solution, VK WorkSpace Projects, will allow businesses to plan and complete tasks, track goals, monitor team progress, and automate workflows. The product combines features such as whiteboards, statuses, and tasks with a user-friendly tracking and notification system. The service allows the manager to track progress at the strategic and tactical levels. For example, the function of building an OKR (Objectives and Key Results) and a goal tree, cascading these goals into departments, and setting and monitoring KPIs is available. At the operational level, goals can be translated into specific tasks, distributed among performers, and tracked in real time.

VK WorkSpace projects help streamline approvals, simplify task control, and increase process transparency: managers get an up-to-date picture of the company, and teams are less involved in routine due to automation scenarios. At the level of business logic, the system covers all key business needs of any size: optimize operational processes and create productive collaboration between all departments," said Peter Shcheglov, Product Director at VK WorkSpace.

In general, the VK WorkSpace service is used by about 20 thousand customers, including small and medium-sized businesses, as well as the country's largest corporations, Pavel Gontarev, CEO of VK Tech, told Izvestia. According to him, while small companies prefer the cloud subscription model, large enterprises prefer on-premise solutions - installing the system on their own servers, which provides full control over data and meets security requirements.

— The first half of 2025 was a period of rapid growth for the company. Revenue increased 1.5 times, and recurring revenue doubled compared to the same period in 2024. Adjusted EBITDA increased 2.7 times, profitability almost doubled, and the number of customers more than tripled. New users include such large organizations as Dom.Russia, Lamoda, Russian Railways and Beeline," he said.

According to him, the IT market today is in a dynamic balance between cloud and on-premise solutions.

— A few years ago, it seemed that everything would inevitably go to the cloud. But after the geopolitical and information security shifts, many companies wanted to control their own circuit. We see a pendulum: both the cloud and the local infrastructure are growing. This is not an overflow, but a consequence of general digitalization and an increase in the volume of data," Pavel Gontarev clarified.

The transition of Russian companies to domestic solutions

The largest domestic corporations are actively continuing large-scale migrations. This process cannot be called a point—based one - we are talking about a systemic restructuring of the country's corporate infrastructure. According to Pavel Gontarev, VTB has completely abandoned Microsoft Exchange, switching to VK Tech solutions. In addition, Gazprom, Rosseti and Lukoil are among the company's clients.

When implementing services in large corporations, the company faces a number of technological and organizational challenges, from the need to integrate with existing systems to information security requirements. However, this experience helps to improve products for the mass market, he said.

Thus, the Russian corporate IT solutions industry is undergoing a period of profound transformation. The departure of Western vendors has become a catalyst for the growth of domestic technologies, Pavel Gontarev added. According to him, switching to proprietary platforms is not a forced measure, but a conscious choice in favor of security, flexibility and technological sovereignty.

The domestic market of corporate IT solutions is under active restructuring: the departure of Western vendors has not only not paralyzed the business, but also stimulated the emergence of mature alternatives. Demand for dynamic infrastructure management software is growing faster than the market itself — 16.3% versus 11.9%, said Andrey Toloknov, Director of Development at Bazis.

"Russian solutions have proven that they can not only replace Western ones, but also provide a higher level of control and stability," he told Izvestia.

It is important not to look for a magic import substitution button, but to build a sustainable architecture where businesses control their data and risks, says Sergey Chupris, director of the Operation Department for CommuniGate Pro.

Today, there are more and more examples of how Russian structures successfully implement domestic software. For example, MTS Link solutions are used by the largest industrial enterprises, banking organizations, medical and preventive institutions, more than 200 universities, and regional administrations.

— In 2024, our revenue increased by 65% compared to 2023 and amounted to 1.815 billion rubles. In the first half of 2025, revenue growth was 73% year-on—year, new sales increased by 103%, and the number of new customers increased by 15.2%," said Pavel Potekhin, executive director of the platform.

T1 IT Holding, through vendor NOTA, is also actively developing its own solutions for corporate tasks. Among them are DION, an alternative to Microsoft Teams, Sphere, which automates the software development cycle, and CRM Modus, which replaces Microsoft Dynamics. These products are not only adapted to Russian specifics, but also often surpass their foreign counterparts in terms of functionality and cybersecurity, said Anton Spirin, Deputy General Director for Business Development at NOTA.

MWS AI has developed its own platform for creating AI assistants, the AI Agents Platform, which supports integration with external applications, working with text and computer code, and also allows you to quickly deploy intelligent search across corporate knowledge bases, the company's press service said.

If earlier we talked about import substitution, today we are talking about import improvement. We provide familiar tools, but we make them better and safer," said Stanislav Orlov, Technical director of the ALMI Partner development company.

This is how a new technological ecosystem is being formed, where Russian products are becoming not just a substitute, but an independent pillar of the country's digital independence, the experts interviewed by Izvestia summarized.
