The Foreign Ministry commented on the idea of building a tunnel between Russia and the United States

The idea of building a tunnel between Russia and the United States was developed even at the end of the 19th century. The official representative of the Russian Foreign Ministry, Maria Zakharova, recalled this on October 23, answering a question from Izvestia.

"You know, this idea had some kind of development even at the end of the 19th and 20th centuries. At the beginning of the 20th century, it was <...> first voiced. By the way, it didn't sound from the American side then," Zakharova said.
