The ex-senator stated the need for pensioners to notify the SFR when moving.
Starting in 2025, pensioners are required to inform the Social Fund of the Russian Federation (SFR) about any changes related to a change of residence, as well as about the fact of employment or dismissal. This was announced on October 20 by the ex-senator, chairman of the Social Democratic Union of Women of Russia Senator Epifanova.
It is specified that these data directly affect the calculation of social and regional surcharges.
"If a pensioner does not inform the SFR about such changes, charges will be made in accordance with his outdated data on the region of residence or employment status, which may affect the amount of payments. It must be remembered that if overpayments are detected, the SFR has the right to demand the return of excess amounts," she warned in an interview with RT.
For example, when you change your place of residence, the federal allowances remain at the same level, while the regional ones may be revised. Epifanova explained that if a pensioner moves from the Far North to the central regions of Russia, the allowance for work in difficult conditions may be canceled. The payout will increase if he moves to another northern region.
She also added that if a pensioner has full "northern" experience, the allowance for this will remain unchanged. In addition, pensioners are required to notify the fund of a change of surname, passport data or bank details, concluded Epifanova.
Earlier, on October 20, Professor Vadim Vinogradov, Dean of the HSE Faculty of Law, announced that pensions for certain categories of pensioners would increase in November 2025. It was clarified that this would affect those who turned 80 in October or who have the first disability group. A double fixed payout will be set for them.
