Three people were killed in an explosion at the Avangard plant in Sterlitamak. This was announced on October 18 by the Prime Minister of Bashkortostan Andrei Nazarov.

"All [people from the rubble] have been removed. Three dead," TASS quoted him as saying.

According to the Ministry of Emergency Situations, search and rescue operations have been completed at the plant.
