During a telephone conversation, Russian President Vladimir Putin and American leader Donald Trump discussed the possible supply of long-range Tomahawk missiles to Ukraine. This was announced on October 16 by the assistant to the Russian leader, Yuri Ushakov, during a briefing.

"Vladimir Putin repeated his thesis that Tomahawk will not change the situation on the battlefield, but it will cause significant damage to relations between our two countries, not to mention the prospects for a peaceful settlement," Ushakov said.
