Medvedchuk spoke about the reason for Zelensky's trip to Washington

President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelensky is going to come to Washington in order to "sell" the continuation of the conflict to the American administration. This was announced on October 15 by Viktor Medvedchuk, chairman of the Other Ukraine movement.

"And so Zelensky goes to Washington to once again sell the <conflict> there," his article on the Other Ukraine website says.

Medvedchuk noted that Zelensky's strategy is to request long-range weapons. The politician added that strikes with long-range weapons against Russia will inevitably lead to retaliatory measures.

The Russian authorities called Zelensky's proposal a dangerous provocation.

On October 13, US President Donald Trump confirmed his readiness to meet with Zelensky at the White House on Friday, October 17. However, the American leader did not provide any details about the upcoming conversation. Zelensky also received an official invitation to visit Washington.

Kremlin spokesman Dmitry Peskov announced the next day that the Kremlin would analyze the meeting between Trump and Zelensky on the transfer of Tomahawk missiles to Kiev.
