According to the lawyer, the Ministry of Health of the Russian Federation classifies more than 200 drugs as prohibited for driving. Among them are psychotropic and sedatives, first—generation antiallergic drugs, some categories of painkillers and antispasmodics, as well as substances containing ethyl alcohol.
"From the point of view of law, a person may be held administratively liable for driving after taking such drugs (Article 12.8 of the Administrative Code of the Russian Federation) or even criminally liable in the event of an accident causing serious harm to health (Article 264 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation)," Stepanova explained.
Earlier, on May 27, the State Duma adopted in the first reading a bill according to which administrative responsibility for driving under the influence of alcohol will occur if substances in the driver's body that are part of drugs that impair attention and reaction.
