The volunteers said they had heard barking in the taiga, which could belong to the dog of the missing Usoltsev family. However, a search in the area yielded nothing, including using a helicopter. Almost two weeks have passed since the family disappeared in the Krasnoyarsk Territory.

Has it been possible to find traces of the Usoltsevs in the taiga

Svetlana Torgashina, a representative of the Oksana Vasilishina Search for Missing Children group, told NGS24 about the search episode that took place on October 2. According to her, then rescuers heard a dog barking in the taiga. Let's remind, the Usoltsevs took their corgi on a hike.

"When he [the helicopter] flew over us, approaching us, we heard a single bark. The helicopter moved on, and we heard it again, and it was the barking of a small dog. I immediately radioed in, asked if there was a connection to the helicopter, turned on the program, hit the dot, radioed in the coordinates to be transmitted to the helicopter. And literally 3-4 minutes later, the helicopter returned to these coordinates," Svetlana Torgashina said.

According to her, the helicopter circled for a long time over the place where the dog's barking was allegedly heard, but there was no response anymore.

"My relatives followed me up. We explained that we had heard a dog barking. The son said that the dog would not leave his parents far away. We called, we smacked our lips, and we tried to lure her. There was no further response. But there is this distortion of the sound, it was unclear where it came from, this sound," she said.

The volunteers also report that once the volunteers allegedly heard a female moan, but this version was also dismissed after careful research.

"There really is a sound. But it arises because of the features of the landscape, where rocks and trees are so arranged that during a gust of wind an echo can be heard, which sounds like a groan," the publication quotes one of the volunteers as saying.

Why did the Usoltsevs go camping

Meanwhile, information has emerged about exactly how the family decided to go camping. Irina Usoltseva is a psychologist who was fond of retreats and oriental practices, and was going to go to "tantra" with her husband Sergey. However, at the last moment, she changed her mind and suggested that he go somewhere alone or with his daughter, Mash reports.

Then Sergey developed a route along the Minsk loop, where they were going to spend the night in a "dome house" with a sauna. Irina Usoltseva called it "my Tantra, earthly, with each other."

The Minsk Loop is located 200 kilometers from Krasnoyarsk. The Mina River is a right tributary of the Mana River in the Partizansky district of the Krasnoyarsk Territory, the area is formed by a bend in the river. Rescuers believe that they may be alive, because there are many natural shelters where they could build a campfire.

Expert Yuri Agbaan told Rossiyskaya Gazeta that there is a chance of survival thanks to the reserves in hunting huts, berries and pine nuts. He called bears the main danger, which "can attack and skillfully hide their prey so that it will be almost impossible to find it."

Volunteers are already getting injured and hypothermia.

About 1,400 people have already taken part in the search, including rescuers, police officers, and volunteers, according to LizaAlert Krasnoyarsk. Volunteers come from the Altai Territory, Kemerovo, Novosibirsk regions, and Khakassia, among others.

LizaAlert is working to the maximum of its capabilities. Some volunteers get injured and drop out of the search teams. After a long walk in the highlands, one of the searchers developed a chronic joint disease, some fell ill after hypothermia," the search team said in a statement.

Volunteers with experience in mountain hiking and the necessary equipment began to be involved in the search on earth, as the search conditions are extremely difficult.

Meanwhile, volunteers continue to arrive at the site: according to the Ministry of Emergency Situations of Russia in the Krasnoyarsk Territory, 60 more volunteers joined the search on Saturday. Since the beginning of the search, more than 5,000 km of taiga roads have already been surveyed.

The volunteers are asking for help with equipment and equipment. Andrei Polyakovsky (Vulture), commander of the Sibir PSG detachment, said that the search engines "used all the supplies they had collected for a whole year: batteries, gasoline, diesel fuel, disposable tableware, canned food."

"In the cold, batteries and accumulators lose their capacity, and in the night forest it threatens to spend the night, for which, due to the situation and the tasks set, our search engines may not be ready. The temperature dropped to minus 13 degrees. If we receive another similar request, we will be unarmed. It became clear that we needed additional resources: a high antenna and a powerful generator," he wrote.
