On October 10, Russian Presidential aide Yuri Ushakov sharply reacted to a statement by Ukrainian leader Vladimir Zelensky about his support for US President Donald Trump's candidacy for the Nobel Peace Prize in the case of the supply of Tomahawk cruise missiles to Ukraine.

"That is, the peace prize for providing weapons. It's even a monstrous thought," he wrote on his Telegram channel.

Ushakov also stressed that such statements clearly demonstrate the essence of the Ukrainian leader.

On August 13, the White House announced the nomination of Trump by seven states for the Nobel Peace Prize. This initiative was supported by Prime Ministers of Armenia Nikol Pashinyan, Israel Benjamin Netanyahu, Cambodia Hun Manet, Presidents of Azerbaijan Ilham Aliyev, Gabon Brice Oligi Nguema, as well as the Government of Pakistan and Minister of Foreign Affairs of Rwanda Olivier Nduhirehe.

In addition, on September 2, the American leader himself responded negatively to a journalist's question about his desire to receive the Nobel Peace Prize. According to him, he wants to be treated fairly for his services as president of the United States.
