Rostec announced the start of testing of the first prototype of the Yak-130M aircraft
The first prototype of the Yak-130M combat training aircraft has been sent for ground and flight tests. The relevant information was published on October 10 on the official website of Rostec State Corporation.
"The machine is aimed at ground and flight tests. Two more sides are being assembled in parallel," the statement said.
It is noted that new and upgraded aircraft systems will be tested during the ground tests. After that, it will be prepared for the first flight. According to Rostec, the main goal of upgrading the Yak-130 to the Yak-130M level is to expand the combat capabilities of the aircraft.
"The modernization will make it possible to equip the Yak-130M with air-to-air missiles and high-precision air-to-surface aircraft with satellite and laser guidance systems. The new aircraft will retain all the capabilities for training combat pilots, but it will also acquire new qualities of a combat aircraft," the state corporation added.
Earlier, on October 6, the United Aircraft Corporation (UAC), as part of the fulfillment of the state defense order, manufactured and handed over a new batch of Su-34 fighter-bombers to the Russian Aerospace Forces (VKS). It was noted that the aircraft had passed all the necessary tests. In addition, the Su-34 performed well in combat missions during a special military operation.
