On October 8, SKA St. Petersburg Hockey Club was defeated by Avtomobilist Yekaterinburg in overtime with a score of 1:2 in an away match of the Kontinental Hockey League (KHL) regular season.

It is noted that forwards Egor Chernikov (39th minute) and Roman Gorbunov (62nd minute) scored goals for the winners. Defender Sergey Sapego scored for SKA (28th).

For SKA, this defeat was the fifth in a row.

St. Petersburg is in seventh place in the Western Conference standings with 13 points. Avtomobilist won its fifth victory in a row and is second in the East with 19 points, adds Sport-Express.

HC Lokomotiv from Yaroslavl scored a 4-2 victory over SKA St. Petersburg on October 6. The winning team scored goals from Maxim Shalunov, who scored two goals in the 11th and 58th minutes, Alexander Radulov (29th) and Martin Gernat (60th). Nikita Dishkovsky (43rd) and Valentin Zykov (57th) provided two goals for the losing team.
