The capital of Vietnam was hit by a strong storm "Matmo"
The capital of Vietnam was at the mercy of a storm for the second time in two weeks — the Matmo struck Hanoi. This was reported by Bloomberg on October 7.
"Flash flood warnings have also been issued by the national meteorological agency in 13 provinces," the publication said.
The agency recalled that the storm struck less than a week after typhoon Bualoy swept through North Vietnam, causing total economic damage of $713 million.
Hanoi schools have switched classes to an online format or given students a day off. Many cars were flooded as a result of the prolonged rain.
On October 2, a typhoon in Vietnam killed 36 people, 21 were missing, and 147 were injured. At least 160 houses were completely destroyed or washed away.
Before that, on August 26, in Vietnam, seven people died and 34 others were injured due to Typhoon Kajiki. At the same time, it was clarified that 15 houses were completely destroyed, and about 8.8 thousand residential buildings, 63 schools and eight medical institutions were left without roofs.
