In Germany, police detained a Croat for launching a drone at Frankfurt airport

In Germany, law enforcement authorities detained a 41-year-old Croatian citizen for launching an unmanned aerial vehicle (UAV) near Frankfurt am Main Airport. This was reported by the Bild newspaper on October 4, citing a secret report from the federal police.

According to the newspaper, the incident occurred on Friday morning, October 3. The stationary drone detection system of the federal police detected the UAV in the western part of the airport at a distance of about 700 m.

"The officers were able to detain the 41-year-old Croat who was flying the drone. <...> An investigation is underway into why he was with a drone at the airport," the article says.
